Hello,

Excellent blog. I love it.

In another section, you mentioned that Queen's "The Works" was a number one LP in Top disco, in Portugal.

Do you know where other albums like "A Kind Of Magic", "The Miracle" and "Innuendo" fare in the Portuguese marketplace? Also, any idea about singles like "Thanks God It's Christmas", "A Kind Of Magic", "Friends Will Be Friends" and "I Want It All"? Whic positions did they achieve? I have been searching for that.

Yes, "Works" was Number 1 here, in 1984.

"Thank God It's CHristmas" you can see in the blog, also, Most of the others, you have to keep checking the blog, because I post every week a new chart. I don't have all in mind, keep coming and check. ok?

Ok, I will keep visiting the site. I hope some of those album eventually show up. It would be great if you could include a charts where there is any Queen related entry, specially for 1986 or 1989.

Just curious, wher can I find the peak for "Thanks God It's Christmas"?I searched for it but I couldn't find it.

"Thank God It's Christmas", like "Do They Know It's Christmas" only chart here in 1985. 1984 is complete all teh charts I have, but 1985 still miss a lot in the blog.

About your other suggestion, I don't know if I understand. Anyway I not posting any particular group, artist or record, what I post is the charts "it self", at least the ones I have with me. Unfortunately not all I have the 20 bestsellers, most in the end of the decade, my newspaper source, only published the top ten.

Hello Soares,

I think I didn't express myself correctly. I'm sorry for that.

What I mean is, I would like it, in the next couple of weeks, if you could post a Portuguese chart Top 10 or Top 20 (from 1986 or 1989) where Queen were charting. For example, a chart from about July or August 1986, will probably include "A Kind Of Magic" in the Top 10. That is my question.

A Portuguese friend, who is a big fan like me, told that "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", "Body Language", "Radio Ga-Ga" and "I Want To Break Free" were number one singles in Portugal. D you remember if that is true? I'm not asking you to search for that. Just by memeory, if you remember those songs being popular in Portugal or not. Please, don't get angry with me. I'm just interested as I'm a big Queen fan. But obviously, I will keep visiting this site. If you check your visits, you will notice I'm probably one of the persons that visit the blog the most.

Hi,

the official chart only start to be televised in 84 and after also printed in Blitz Newspaper. before was also published in a TV magazine, but I do not have these mags.
Anyway, an official chart only starts a few years before.
So is not possible to say, in my opinion, that singles from 79's or early 80's, that was Portuguese Nº 1. At least officially.
What we have that time, was one or two tops, that almost have the same effect, because of the popularity. Per instance, Rock em Stock top, or TNT.Todos nos top.
These tracks, or part of them, could be Nº1 in TNT top, a radio show with TV extension on Saturday Afternoon, but this was not official sales chart. This was the case of Body Language, per instance.

Hernán disse...

Thank you, so "Body language" was number one on the TNT chart in Portugal?

Well, I have to say that I actually have some Portuguese albums charts before 1984 (taken from Billboard). They weren't official, like you said, but I can send them to you if you are interested.

Well, looking forward to seeing how "A Kind Of Magic" or "The Miracle" did in Portugal. I hope they show up in the next Top 10's you post.
