Vinte anos depois do dia que a musica mudou, ou pelo menos tentou mudar, o mundo, Bob Geldof, impulsionador de todo o projecto, através da sua empresa e com selo da Warner colocou no mercado este DVD com 4 discos e uma apanhado do que 16 horas musica, principalmente, nos 2 lados do Atlântico, mas também na continente europeu, Austrália e Japão.
Este DVD é apenas um resumo dessas actuações, pois muitos temas e alguns artistas, foram deixados de fora. Mas o facto de podermos ter este documento em casa, é de todo um verdadeiro milagre. Isto porque, segundo as indicações do próprio Geldof, o evento deveria ser único e nunca mais repetido, pelo que, mesmo os canais responsáveis pela transmissão, receberam ordens para destruir as fitas do evento.
Felizmente, dizemos nós agora, nem todos o fizeram, de forma que foi possível resgatar alguns momentos daquele dia, eu diria, mágico.
O DVD começam com o antes do Live Aid, ou seja, 3 momentos que precederam este evento e que foram os que conduziram a que se fizesse este megalómano evento.
Para quem não viveu aquele dia, não pôde ou não quis, este DVD é a forma de reparar esse lapso e sentir, dentro do possível, o que foi viver, mesmo que pela TV, um dos momentos mais importantes e memoráveis do século 20.
A compra deste DVD volta a ser uma boa acção, uma vez que as vendas revertem para acções humanitárias. Pois ao contrário do que se poderia imaginar, 25 anos depois, no mundo continua a haver pessoas, que diariamente travam uma luta contra a fome. Parece incrível, mas esta continua a ser uma dura verdade.
