Faz hoje precisamente 25 anos, neste mesmo dia 13 de Julho, acontecia no nosso pequeno planeta, um dos maiores e dos mais inesquecíveis eventos de sempre, o LIVE AID.
Depois do projecto inicial de Bob Geldof, que juntou no single, "Do They Know It's Christmas?" um grande número de estrelas de topo da cena pop/rock inglesa e americana, depois de muitos projectos idênticos, que foram surgindo um pouco por todo o mundo, Geldof tenta algo ainda mais dantesco. Felizmente conseguiu leva-lo por diante.
Assim nascia o LIVE AID, um mega concerto realizado, principalmente, nos 2 cantos do globo, Londres e Filadélfia e televisionado para o mundo. Algo, até ai, praticamente inimaginável.
Além desses 2 principais palcos, outros houve, quer na Europa Continental, quer no Japão e Austrália.
Ao todo foram 16 horas ininterruptas de música, que através das TV de todo o mundo, levaram o evento a mais de 2 biliões de espectadores, espalhados pelos 5 continentes.
Eu fui um deles e sei bem o que para mim, esse 13 de Julho de 1985 representa. É sem dúvida um dia inesquecível, mas acima de tudo, o meu dia televisivo mais longo de toda a minha vida.
Ao todo foram 16 horas em frente ao monitor da TV, com apenas as interrupções ultra necessárias, mas mesmo as refeições foram, com a devida aceitação da minha mãe, feitas em frente à TV.
Um dia que começou ao meio dia em ponto, com o inicio do evento em Londres e terminou às 4 da manhã, quando em Filadélfia se pôs termo a esse espectáculo magnifico e verdadeiramente inesquecível.
Tal como muitos milhões de habitantes deste planeta, guardo com grande satisfação a memória desse dia e do que muitos dos melhores músicos, que alguma vez habitaram este planeta, fizeram para tentar mudar algo neste espaço chamado Terra.

Uma maratona que, para ser possível, muitas barreiras foram necessárias derrubar, muitos procedimentos e meios técnicos, preciso inventar. O LIVE AID acabou por ser, também, o pai dos megafestivais todos que hoje conhecemos.
Tudo se deve à ideia e empenho de Bob Geldof, mas também de um batalhão de outras pessoas, que sem elas, muitas e muitas vidas, não teriam sido possível salvar. Convêm não esquecer que o LIVE AID tinha por fim recolher fundos no combate à fome em África e que conseguiu reunir, aproximadamente, 284 milhões de USDolars.
LIVE AID 25 anos depois, uma data para recordar e celebrar, para sempre.
